Booking Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
Welcome to Irish Routes. These Booking Terms & Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any information provided in relation to your booking, form the agreement between Irish Routes ("we", "us" or "our") and the lead traveller ("you").
Please read these Terms carefully before confirming your booking.
By paying a Journey Design Fee or confirming a booking with Irish Routes, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Irish Routes

We specialise in thoughtfully designed journeys throughout Ireland, combining carefully selected accommodation, local experiences and personalised itinerary planning to create seamless, tailor-made travel experiences.
2. Our Services
Every Irish Routes itinerary is individually designed around you.
Depending on the services booked, your journey may include:
Bespoke itinerary design

Practical travel guidance
Pre-departure documentation
On-trip support (where applicable)
Unless specifically stated, our services do not include:

Personal expenses
3. Journey Design Fee
Every journey begins with a complimentary Discovery Call.
Should you decide to proceed, a Journey Design Fee of €250 is payable before we begin creating your bespoke itinerary.
This fee covers the time, expertise and research involved in designing your personalised journey.
If you subsequently confirm your booking with Irish Routes, the Journey Design Fee will be deducted from your final trip balance.
If you choose not to proceed with the booking after receiving your itinerary proposal, the Journey Design Fee is non-refundable.
4. Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once:
your itinerary has been agreed,
supplier availability has been confirmed,
we have received your deposit,
and we have issued your Booking Confirmation.
Payment of your deposit constitutes acceptance of these Booking Terms & Conditions.
5. Payment
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
Certain suppliers may require larger deposits or immediate payment. Where this applies, we will advise you before confirmation.
The remaining balance is payable 60 days before departure.
Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking.
Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking and the loss of any monies already paid.
6. Prices
All prices are quoted in Euros unless otherwise stated.
Prices are based on supplier rates available at the time your quotation is prepared.
Until your booking is confirmed, quotations remain subject to availability and supplier price changes.
Once your booking has been confirmed, your price will only change where exceptional circumstances outside our control make this unavoidable, such as government-imposed taxes or supplier surcharges. We will always discuss any such changes with you before proceeding.
7. Changes Requested by You
Because every itinerary is individually designed, we are happy to make reasonable amendments during the planning stage.
Once your booking has been confirmed, any requested changes will be subject to supplier availability and may incur additional charges.
Where possible, we will always try to accommodate your requests.
8. Changes Made by Irish Routes
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control mean changes become necessary.
Wherever possible, we will provide an equivalent or higher standard alternative.
If a significant change becomes unavoidable, we will discuss the available options with you before making any decisions.
9. Cancellation by You
Should you need to cancel your booking, cancellation must be received in writing.
The following cancellation charges will normally apply:
60 days or more: 25% of total booking value (deposit)
43–59 days: 50%
31–42 days: 75%
30 days or less: 100%
Some accommodation providers and experiences operate stricter cancellation policies.
Where this applies, we will advise you before your booking is confirmed.
Certain pre-paid tickets, special events or experiences may also be non-refundable from the point of booking.
10. Cancellation by Irish Routes
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking before departure, we will offer you either:
a full refund of all monies paid, or
a suitable alternative itinerary of comparable standard, where available.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking if payment has not been received by the agreed due date.
11. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance as soon as their booking is confirmed.
Your policy should include, at a minimum:
cancellation cover
medical expenses
personal belongings
travel disruption
Travel insurance is the responsibility of the traveller.
12. Special Requirements
Please tell us about any dietary requirements, allergies, mobility requirements or medical conditions that may affect your journey at the earliest opportunity.
We will make every reasonable effort to communicate these requirements to our suppliers, although we cannot guarantee that every request can be accommodated.
13. Passports & Entry Requirements
It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure they hold valid passports, visas or other travel documentation required for entry into Ireland.
14. Force Majeure
Irish Routes cannot accept liability where the performance of your booking is affected by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
This includes, but is not limited to:
severe weather
industrial action
natural disasters
government restrictions
pandemics
acts of terrorism
supplier insolvency
Where possible, we will always work with you to minimise disruption.
15. Liability
Irish Routes carefully selects accommodation providers, guides and experience partners.
However, many of the services included within your itinerary are provided by independent third parties.
Our liability is limited to the services we directly arrange and coordinate.
Nothing within these Terms excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.
16. Complaints
If something isn't right during your journey, please let us know as soon as possible.
Many issues can be resolved quickly while you are travelling, and we will always do our best to help.
17. Privacy
Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Any disputes arising from your booking shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
